Award-winning designer joins Wanaka Joinery

Wanaka Joinery and Glass has a new team member; we welcome on board award-winning designer Amanda Guisolan. Amanda joins us as Design and Sales Director and she brings a wealth of design and joinery knowledge and expertise with her.

Amanda has a decade of experience in the joinery design world. From early on Amanda followed her passion for design, timber and woodwork; she left school to train as a furniture maker at Dennison’s Joinery in Timaru. Like most Kiwis, Amanda eventually set off on her OE. On her travels she continued to develop her trade working in an up-market bathroom and kitchen design studio ‘Obsidian’ in Cheltenham, England. This sparked Amanda’s love of kitchen design.

Master Joiner awards

Amanda returned to NZ with a family and continued kitchen design, cabinet making and joinery and for the last five years she has been working in a well-established joinery business in Timaru. Her now finely tuned design skills, built on a solid technical understanding of joinery, earned her two Master Joiner Awards, the ‘Best Use Of Colour’ award in 2015 and the ‘Best Regional Joinery Design’ in 2016. Amanda also worked on the iconic Riverstone Castle providing extensive design throughout, including kitchen, vanities, wardrobes, laundry, dining, dressers, kitchenette and guest areas.

Design to installation process

Amanda has an astounding understanding of the ‘design to installation’ process. Her expertise is in kitchen design and her passion is working with people curating products, materials and design for the ultimate results in aesthetics, functionality and style.

Amanda has been out meeting our clients, suppliers and tradespeople in Wanaka for the past month. She is a powerhouse of energy, experience and knowledge in kitchen, bathroom and residential design. Amanda’s passion for this trade shines through, all day every day and we are beyond pleased to have Amanda on the team!
