Chris joined Wanaka Joinery in April 2023. Born & bred in the North Island, living between Wellington & the sunny Hawkes Bay, Chris moved to the South Island in 2013 with her family to work & live in Marlborough. The South Island has always felt like home to Chris & her absolute love of the Otago area & the fantastic opportunity to come & work at Wanaka Joinery now sees her call Wanaka home.
No stranger to design, when Chris joined Wanaka Joinery she had already been working as a Kitchen Designer – Joinery Designer in the industry for coming up to 10 years. With 27 years of working in the customer service sector & a qualified Interior Designer, Chris prides herself on delivering the best experience for each & every client.
“I have been asked a few times over the years what I do for a job and my answer has always intrigued people. My job is to create beautiful spaces that bring family & friends together. Relationships & connection is what it’s all about. Clients will often come to me not knowing where to start. My advice is simple, surround yourself with what you love not what is on trend”.
In her spare time Chris loves to be outside amongst nature. Having loved painting in the past, Chris is constantly inspired by the ever-changing canvas New Zealand offers. With her passion for Architecture, Chris admires all the interesting homes being built locally & the natural products being used to achieve stunning results.
Aside from her love of design, Chris’s other loves are her children, hubby & her two beautiful Cocker Spaniels. “Having had the privilege of being a mum, I truly believe having kids has taught me so much about being an active listener & the importance of connection. Combine this with having dogs that teach you how to give & receive unconditionally & you end up with a stunning balance of life skills that have helped in my day-to-day work life”.
And as far as what Chris loves the most about Wanaka Joinery – “It’s the people I get to work with. It’s incredibly inspirational to be surrounded by such talented individuals who all want to do their best for the client. The fact that they all have a great sense of humour as well is fantastic as I believe laughter is the food for the soul”.
